Brioche is a fun technique with a squishy rib-like appearance, that when 2 color work is stitched correctly is reversible with a different color prominent on either side! Brioche knit flat is what we call “level 2”: a bit more complicated than knitting brioche in the round, but don’t fear, we have tips and tricks!
Supplies needed (please buy what you do not already have at Sun Dragon, 10% off supplies bought specifically for Saturday Classes):
Approximately 50-100 grams (cowl) or 100-200 grams (scarf) each of 2 colors depending on the thickness of yarn. We recommend bulky or super bulky yarn for your first project, and contrasting colors: either a variegated and a solid, or a light and dark solid. We recommend there be no overlapping colors/colors in common to have a clear distinction between the two. We have shop samples in Feederbrook Farm Entropy Chunky and Berroco Ultra Wool Chunky for the bulky cowl, and two colors of Sugar Bush Chill for the Super Bulky
Needles also depend on the weight of yarn used. We recommend a US 10.5 (6.5 mm) for bulky yarn, US 15 (10.0 mm) for Super Bulky. They must be circular, 24” or 32” length recommended
Basic pattern instructions will be provided in class.
