Basic Granny Square (crochet)

  • Sun Dragon Art & Fiber 35 S. Broad St Brevard United States (map)

$35, 1 session

Saturday July1, 10 am.

Fee includes instruction only. Let us know if we can assist you with purchasing supplies!

We’re starting our summer make-a-long with the basics! Learn how to construct a basic granny square, the foundation for all of the patterns we are suggesting for the summer MAL. Granny squares have a rich history, and are being used in so many new and modern ways! small or big, they can be user to modularly build almost anything, from blankets to bags, shawls and tops.

This is not a class to teach you to crochet, knowledge of chaining and double crocheting is needed. Check out our intro crochet (crochet 101) classes for that.

Please contact the shop (email rebecca@sundragonartandfiber.com or call 828-877-3550) to reserve your spot. We will need your name, phone number, and email.

We will meet outside, weather permitting. If we need to move inside, the instructor will wear a mask, and we encourage participants to do the same.

Supply list (supplies bought for this class eligible for 15% discount at checkout in shop, must be mentioned at checkout):

  • This class is pretty open ended: bring a skein of yarn of any thickness, and a hook that is the right size for working with the yarn. We suggest worsted (#4) or bigger, and as an example if you had a worsted yarn we would recommend an H hook. Bring in yarn and a hook from home or we can recommend supplies here at the shop, contact us with any questions.
