One of the patterns on our short list of suggestions for the summer MAL/CAL is the Cozy Days Daisy blanket by Stephanie Jessica Lau. The foundation of this chunky/bulky weight blanket is a daisy granny square, perfect for the blanket or anything else you’d like to make with it. Being modular, you can make a bag with just a few, or a blanket with 40!
The class is a one-time session to learn the basics of making the Daisy Granny Square, you can use the hook and yarn thickness suggested below, or any yarn and appropriate hook of your choice.
This is not a class to teach you to crochet, knowledge of chaining, single, and double crochet is needed. Check out our intro crochet (crochet 101) classes for that.

We will meet outside, weather permitting. If we need to move inside, the instructor will wear a mask, and we encourage participants to do the same.

The blanket suggests 900 yards of color A (green), 300+ yards of color B (white), and 50 yards of color C (yellow), all chunky/bulky weight for the whole blanket. to learn 1 square in class, you will probably need less than 50 yards of each color. If you use a different thickness of yarn in the class, just be prepared to use a different size hook as well.
US L (8.0mm) hook or size needed for gauge
tapestry needle recommended (not required for class)
